Six individuals, including an online gym trainer, were arrested by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force and Musheerabad police for procuring and selling steroid injections and muscle-enhancing supplements without authorisation. Drugs and supplements worth approximately ₹6.5 lakh were seized during the operation.

The accused were identified as Batte Shiva, 32, an online gym trainer and former owner of Iron House Gym; Mohammed Furqanuddin Faisal, 28, who is engaged in business of scrap items; Mohammed Saif, 20, a student; Farzan Khan, 20; Mohd. Yousuf, 26; and Sombattini Abhilash, 24, an anaesthesia technician. Police said two other accused, identified as Mudid Chouhan of Uttar Pradesh and Rajan Preet Singh of Punjab, are absconding.

According to the police, Batte Shiva and Mohammed Furqanuddin Faisal were the main sellers who allegedly sourced the steroid injections and body-building supplements through online platforms without medical prescriptions before distributing them to sub-sellers for resale at higher prices.

Police seized 440 vials of Termin (Neon), 336 vials of Mephentermine Sulphate Injection IP, 50 ampoules of Testosterone Enanthate Injection, Somatropin injections, Drostanolone Propionate injections, amino acid supplements, 336 tablets of other body-building supplements and two mobile phones from the accused.

Investigations revealed that Shiva, who currently works as an online gym trainer, procured the injections through an online platform identified as Medhouse Pharma. Police found that the consignments were dispatched from Uttar Pradesh by the absconding accused, Mudid Chouhan, through a courier service before being supplied to Mohd. Yousuf and Sombattini Abhilash for resale.

Similarly, Faisal sourced the drugs through another online platform identified as Ship Racket. Police said the consignments were dispatched by the absconding accused Rajan Preet Singh from Punjab through a courier service and later supplied to Mohammed Saif and Farzan Khan for resale.

The police advised gym owners, fitness trainers and fitness enthusiasts against using or promoting injectable muscle-enhancing substances. Police said they maintain records of gym owners, trainers and members across the city and would continue surprise inspections to ensure compliance, warning that action would be taken against those found violating the law.
