The Kerala government has directed all departments and public-sector institutions to report vacancies to the Kerala Public Service Commission within three weeks.
The decision was taken on the basis of a June 30, 2026 Cabinet decision, according to a July 1 order issued by the Personnel and Administrative Reforms department (P&ARD). Department heads and appointment authorities have been instructed to take steps to report the vacancies.
Secretaries of the administrative departments have been directed to deal sternly with lapses in this regard, the P&ARD order said.
Allegations
In recent weeks, the PSC has been rocked by a clutch of controversies over alleged lapses and irregularities linked to the rank lists and valuation. More recently, suspected administrative issues linked to the rank list published for posts in the State Planning Board had kicked up a storm, prompting the PSC to ask its internal vigilance wing to probe the allegations.
Meanwhile, in a separate order on July 2, the P&ARD has also asked all departments and public sector institutions to “urgently” compile and hand over a list of all temporary employees within three weeks. This order applies to all contract and daily wage employees as well as those hired through the employment exchanges.
