Actor-filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan has officially entered film production with the launch of his home banner, PR Show. His first full-fledged production venture, tentatively titled PRS01, was launched on Monday with a special announcement video that also marked the beginning of the film’s shoot. The film features his Dudeco-star Mamitha Baiju and Dharmandirector Ashwath Marimuthu.
Earlier reports had suggested that Pradeep would make his debut as a producer with a women-centric film. While the makers have not confirmed those reports, the project has now officially gone on floors.
PRS01 stars Mamitha Baiju and Ashwath Marimuthu in the lead, alongside Swasika, debutant Anamika Mahi and Telugu actor Sivaji Sontineni in pivotal roles. The film is being directed by the Alpha Unit, a collective of six filmmakers comprising Vishal TR, Yash V, Naren Saoda, Chanakkiyan R, Dhanush Kumar and Ilamparithi. Previously, they assisted Pradeep Ranganath on his directorial ventures.
Apart from backing the project, Pradeep has also written the story.
The film also reunites Pradeep with composer Sai Abhyankkar after Dude. Along with the announcement, Sai released a 132-second track titled Aane Wala Star on YouTube. The song appears to serve as the film’s title track, with lyrics credited to an anonymous lyricist named ‘Dholu bholu’.
Although reports have claimed that the film revolves around women and that Ashwath Marimuthu plays a police officer, the makers have not officially confirmed either detail. Further information about the plot, genre, release date and the rest of the cast is expected in the coming months.
The technical crew includes cinematographer Dinesh Purushothaman, editor Pradeep E Ragav, production designer Aswin Lara and choreographer Dinesh Kadi. Deepan Raj serves as the creative lead, while Ramesh Narayanan is the creative producer.

PRS01 marks the official launch of Pradeep’s production banner, PR Show, and his first full-fledged outing as a producer after previously serving as co-producer on Loveyapa, the Hindi remake of his second directorial venture, Love Today. The film also reunites him with Mamitha Baiju after Dude and Ashwath Marimuthu after Dragon. The makers have confirmed that the film will release in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
Pradeep Ranganathan was last seen as an actor in Love Insurance Kompany, directed by Vignesh Shivan, which released earlier this year after multiple postponements. While the actor has several projects in the pipeline, including an unannounced directorial, his next film as an actor is yet to be officially announced.
