The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka has gathered momentum, with over 2.01 crore Enumeration Forms (EFs) distributed across the State within four days of the month-long exercise.

According to data released by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Karnataka, 20,124,411 Enumeration Forms, accounting for 36.30% of the State’s 5,54,32,314 electors, had been distributed as of 6 p.m. on Friday. The house-to-house enumeration and digitisation exercise, which began on June 30, will continue till July 29.

The Election Commission noted that 12,07,432 Enumeration Forms (2.18%) had been digitised so far, while 54,823 electors (0.10%) had submitted their forms online.

During the verification process, officials identified 8,853 deceased electors, 6,828 electors who had permanently shifted, 1,636 persons found to be already enrolled elsewhere, and 264 electors who were untraceable or absent. Another 107 cases were classified under other categories. A total of 17,688 cases were marked under the Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate and Other (ASDDO) category for further verification.

In districts

Among the districts, Kalaburagi continued to record the highest distribution of EFs with 11.59 lakh forms, followed by Tumakuru (10.24 lakh), Belagavi (10.12 lakh), Davangere (9.36 lakh), Koppal (8.70 lakh), Vijayapura (8.58 lakh), Chitradurga (8.55 lakh) and Hassan (8.53 lakh).

In terms of digitisation, Raichur continued to lead the State with 1,34,288 forms digitised, followed by Haveri (90,341), Chitradurga (88,131), Hassan (78,764), Ballari (68,271), Koppal (63,297), Chickballapur (58,796) and Mandya (57,103).
