Hero MotoCorp has expressed its commitment to a major investment of ₹3,200 crore in Andhra Pradesh to strengthen its global supply chain and reinforce India’s position in the automotive and EV ecosystem.

As part of this larger goal, the company got a foundation stone laid for its second Global Parts Centre at Madanapalem in Satyavedu constituency of Tirupati district on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who participated in the ground-breaking ceremony, dubbed Hero MotoCorp’ as a valued partner in Andhra Pradesh’s growth journey, especially in transforming the Rayalaseema region into an advanced manufacturing and innovation destination.

“The decision to establish the Global Parts Centre in Tirupati is a strong endorsement of our State’s progressive policies, world-class infrastructure, investor-friendly ecosystem and our commitment to the Speed of Doing Business,” he said, while acknowledging the company’s role in generating thousands of jobs and strengthening local supply chains, besides enhancing skill development measures.

Hero MotoCorp’s Executive Chairman Pawan Munjal called the present investment in the Global Parts Centre a ‘milestone’ in the company’s journey towards sustainable development.

The transformation of Tirupati into a future-ready manufacturing and electric mobility hub begins with this investment in our global supply chain that supports our expansion across markets. “We reaffirm our commitment to the ‘Made in India, for India and the World’ slogan,” he added.

He called the new facility a tribute to his father Brijmohan Lall Munjal, the group’s Founder and Chairman Emeritus, on his 103rd birth anniversary observed today.

The new facility will serve as a strategic nerve centre for the company’s domestic and international spare parts operations. Cent per cent of its electric vehicle portfolio is entirely designed, engineered and manufactured in this plant. With this plant, the company expects its annual production capacity to scale up aggressively between 1.2 and 1.5 million units.

Job creation

Hero MotoCorp expects this Global Parts Centre to generate 4,000 jobs, while the Tirupati expansion goes beyond job creation to act as an economic catalyst to deliver sustained benefits to the region.

In partnership with the State government, the company launched ‘Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal Heroes of Tomorrow Scholarship’ programme to empower students pursuing technical education across the 28 districts by providing full tuition coverage for meritorious students pursuing engineering degrees at the State IIITs.

As part of community welfare, Hero MotoCorp has also announced to deploy VIDA electric scooters and provide specialised road safety training to women police personnel across Tirupati district.

Minister for Revenue, Stamps and Registration Anagani Satya Prasad, MLAs K. Adimoolam (Satyavedu), Nelavala Vijayasri (Sullurpeta), Collector S. Venkateswar, Industries Director Shubham Bansal, Joint Collector R. Govinda Rao and Hero MotoCorp Chief Executive Officer Harshavardhan Chitale were among the participants.
