Vijay’s close aide Jagadish Palanisamy appointed as Private Secretary to CM

Jagadish Palanisamy, an associate of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, for more than a decade during his film career and the head of a talent management company, was appointed as Private Secretary to the Chief Minister.

Mr Palanisamy, also a film producer, was appointed by the State government on May 12, two days after Mr. Vijay assumed office as Chief Minister. However, the Government Order on the appointment was made public by Mr. Palanisamy in a social media post wishing Mr. Vijay on his birthday on Monday (June 22, 2026). The G.O. was thereafter widely circulated on social media platforms.

“Eighteen years ago, I stood in line as a die-hard fan, hoping for a o the Hon’ble Chief Minister of the State. Life has come full circle. I owe you everything for who I am today,” Mr. Palanisamy posted on X.

His appointment coincided with that of Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel, an astrologer, as Officer on Special Duty (Political) to the Chief Minister on May 12. However, Mr. Vettrivel’s appointment was revoked the next day following severe criticism, including from TVK allies.
