Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused, identified as Rakesh (21), a final-year B.Com student, and Don Brite Son (20), a first-year BBA student, were washing their legs using tap water inside the PG premises.

Matle allegedly objected to their actions, leading to a heated argument. During the altercation, the PG owner reportedly brought a cricket bat to assault the youths. However, the accused allegedly snatched the bat from him, and assaulted him with it.

Matle sustained severe injuries, and later succumbed.

Police suspect that the two accused had consumed alcohol before the incident. Both have been arrested, and are being questioned.
