Four history sheeters to be externed from Raichur

Raichur Superintendent of Police Arunangshu Giri has said that the department has received a sanction order from the Special Executive Magistrate in Raichur to extern four history sheeters from the district to ensure law and order.

Addressing a press conference in Raichur on Monday, Mr. Giri said that the department sent a proposal to the Special Executive Magistrate seeking a sanction order to extern a total of 39 history sheeters from the district.

The Special Executive Magistrate has now passed an order allowing externment of four among them. It has kept the proposal for further hearing in the case of the remaining 35 history sheeters who are involved in several crimes and are facing several cases in different police stations.

The district has a total of 1,561 history sheeters under different police limits. The externment order is meant to send them out of the district to maintain peace and law and order, he said and added that the latest order against these four history sheeters will remain in force for the next three months.

The Superintendent of Police said that the jurisdiction police carried out a search operation on 103 houses ahead of Muharram and found 109 history sheeters. The police interrogated all 109 and have now directed them not to indulge in criminal activities any further. Apart from this, a rowdy parade was organised involving 748 history sheeters.

Mr. Giri said that Muharram is going to be celebrated in 730 places across the district, while it has been banned in 29 identified villages for various reasons.

Murder cracked

Meanwhile, the Raichur West Police have cracked a murder that occurred in Kulasambi Colony in Raichur city within 24 hours of the crime.

A 30-year-old man identified as Tirupathi was murdered.

Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested two accused, the Superintendent of Police said and named them as Avesh and Raju.

Initial investigation has revealed that enmity is the reason for the crime.
