A total of 3,806 of the registered 4,324 MBBS aspirants took the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination held by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in various examination centres across the Union Territory on Sunday. Elaborate arrangements were in place at nine centres in Puducherry.
The re-test, held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., was conducted under tight security, with the district administration putting in place elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth and incident-free conduct of the examination. Several rooms had been earmarked in each NEET centre to accommodate the candidates and a set of invigilators assigned to every hall to oversee the exercise.
Yashwant, a NEET aspirant from Puducherry, recovering from a road accident, appeared for the re-exam despite injuries on his hands and legs. The student arrived on a wheelchair to the examination centre at Bharathidasan Government College for Women and took the exam.
In Cuddalore district, a total of 3,596 of the 4,749 registered candidates appeared for the exam, while 1,153 candidates remained absent.
