District Collector K. Dinesh Kumar on Saturday (June 20, 2026) assured the tribal families who suffered losses due to left-wing extremist activities in recent years in Polavaram district of a special session to address their grievances.

The Collector interacted with the family members of 31 individuals whom the Maoists allegedly killed after branding them as informers and supporters of the police in recent years during the Yogandhra programme in Rampachodavaram.

The Collector has assured to conduct a grievance cell for those 31 families, an official release issued by the Polavaram district police said.

The Collector handed over ₹12 lakh as ex-gratia to Madivi Roja, whose family member was killed by the Maoists in 2022, during the Yogandhra programme.

The District Police also donated ₹51,000 to Ms. Roja’s family. Additional SP (Operations) Pankaj Kumar Meena. Joint Collector S. Prashant Kumar, Chintoor ITDA Project Officer Shubham Nokhwal, Chintoor Assistant Superintendent of Police B. Hemanth and DSP Rampachodavaram Ashraf Ali and other officials were present.
