Ministers, MLAs, public representatives and district officials participated in celebrations marking two years of the coalition government in Ongole on Thursday.

Those present included Social Welfare Minister Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar, District In-charge Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Veeranjaneya Swamy said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is governing the State with a focus on both development and welfare. “When the alliance government assumed power, the State was burdened with a debt of ₹10 lakh crore. We are simultaneously repaying those debts and delivering welfare to the people,” he said.

Mr. Ravi Kumar said that the government’s two-year tenure has been marked by a blend of trust, development and welfare-oriented governance. The government has fulfilled its key commitments made to the people and has focused on balanced development across the State. “The government kept its promise by creating Markapuram district,” he added.

Highlighting the alleged anomalies during the previous government’s district reorganisation, he noted that Addanki Assembly constituency, which was earlier merged with Bapatla district, and Kandukur constituency, which had earlier been included in Nellore district, were brought back into Prakasam district in response to the public demand.

The Energy Minister expressed confidence that Andhra Pradesh would emerge as a model State under the leadership of Mr. Chandrababu Naidu. Along with the Ministers, MLAs Damacharla Janardhan, B.N. Vijay Kumar, Mukku Ugra Narasimha Reddy, Inturi Nageswara Rao, and coalition leaders also attended the programme.
