HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old bodybuilder-cum-YouTuber, who goes by the name Masood Chandi, was bludgeoned to death at his house in Golconda by his brother-in-law and others due to personal disputes on Friday evening. Police launched a manhunt to nab the accused.The deceased was SK Mahboob, an electrician, who uploads bodybuilding videos on YouTube under the name Masood Chandi. He has more than 2,500 followers. “He wears silver jewellery and makes videos under the name Masood Chandi,” Tolichowki ACP Syed Fayaz said.At 3.30 pm, Mahboob’s brother-in-law, SK Sohail, along with his associates, Affu and Jaber, reached Mahboob’s house at Kummarwadi in Golconda. They picked up an argument with Mahboob and attacked him with iron rods. “With severe head injuries, Mahboob died on the spot,” Additional DCP Golconda Krishna Goud said.During the preliminary probe, police found out that Sohail fell in love with a woman from the Bada bazaar area of Golconda and married her 18 months ago. They have a 6-month-old son.Police said that both the families were not happy with the marriage and recently the marital relationship strained as Mahboob was not treating his wife properly. On Monday, Mahboob sent his wife and son to her parents’ house due to differences. “Mahboob’s in-laws were unhappy. Sohail, along with his associates, came to Mahboob’s house to confront him and during the argument, they attacked him with a rod,” the ACP said.Three special teams were formed to nab the accused, who are on the run. “As of now we suspect that there were three accused. We are trying to arrest the accused quickly and find out the exact reason for the murder,” the Additional DCP said.The body of the victim was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem. On the complaint of the victim’s family, a case was registered under Section 103(1) (murder) of the BNS against Sohail and others.
