The southwest monsoon is expected to remain active over India’s western coastline on Saturday, June 13, bringing widespread rainfall to parts of Kerala, coastal Karnataka and possibly Goa, while scattered showers are forecast across several northern and eastern states.

The most significant rainfall activity is likely to occur along the Western Ghats, where moisture-laden monsoon winds continue to remain strong.

Kerala is expected to receive widespread rain, while coastal Karnataka could also witness moderate to heavy showers. Goa may see some spells of rain as well.

“The monsoon is also expected to remain active over Northeast India, with rain likely across Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and other northeastern states. Moderate to heavy showers are possible in several locations, continuing the wet spell that has persisted in the region over recent days,” Devendra Tripathi, Founder, Mausam Tak, told IndiaToday.in.

Weather rain forecast:

In northern India, rainfall activity is expected to be more scattered and localised. Uttar Pradesh could witness isolated showers and thunderstorms, though rainfall is not expected to be widespread.

Delhi may also see light rain or thunderstorm activity, particularly during the evening hours. Weather experts say cloud development over the National Capital Region could trigger brief spells of rain, with some chances also extending into Friday night.

A band of clouds is expected to develop from central India towards eastern India, stretching from Madhya Pradesh through Chhattisgarh and Odisha. This system could remain active into Saturday morning, bringing rainfall to parts of Haryana, Delhi, western Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.

Eastern India is also likely to witness rain activity. Odisha could receive scattered moderate rainfall, while parts of Jharkhand and Bihar may experience isolated showers. In Bihar, the highest chances of rainfall are expected over districts bordering Nepal, including regions from Kishanganj in the east to the Champaran belt in the west.

Sub-Himalayan West Bengal may also witness fairly widespread rainfall, aided by moisture-rich winds flowing into the eastern Himalayan foothills.

Weather rain forecast:

Cloud cover is expected across Gujarat, though significant rainfall is unlikely. Eastern Rajasthan may witness isolated showers, but rain chances remain limited. Western Rajasthan, meanwhile, is expected to remain hot and windy.

In the Himalayan states, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh could see isolated rainfall activity, while Jammu and Kashmir is likely to receive only light and scattered showers.

Overall, weather activity on Saturday is expected to remain scattered across much of the country, with the heaviest and most consistent rainfall confined to the Western Ghats and Northeast India.
