Telangana is poised to become a leading logistics hub on the back of its strategic location, in the country, strong multimodal connectivity and the proposed Logistics Policy 2.0, Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu said here on Friday.
Infrastructure-led growth is at the heart of the strategy and the upcoming Mega Multimodal Logistics Park in Manoharabad, expanding air cargo capabilities and world-class skilling ecosystem set to be key enablers for the transformation of the State, the Minister said.
Mr. Sridhar Babu, who was addressing the International Conference on Shipping and Logistics 2026 (ICSL 2026) organised by the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI), said the State government through a multi-pronged approach sought to turn Telangana’s landlocked geography into a strategic advantage. Under the Logistics Policy 2.0 it plans to promote development of mega multimodal logistics parks, dry ports, bonded warehousing facilities and integrated logistics hubs.
Telangana has transformed its central location into an advantage and it is evident in the State contributing nearly 5% of India’s GDP, ranking seventh among merchandise-exporting States and registering exports of more than ₹1.61 lakh crore in 2024–25. It was ranked 8th nationally and 2nd among landlocked states in the Export Preparedness Index 2024, the Minister said, inviting investors and industry leaders to partner with the State.
“Telangana is ready to connect markets, support industry and build the logistics ecosystem of the future. Come, invest in Telangana. Grow with Telangana,” he said, calling for investments in multimodal logistics, rail-linked infrastructure, air cargo, cold-chain networks, Grade-A warehousing, automation, digital logistics platforms and green mobility solutions.
The organisers in a release said FTCCI President R. Ravi Kumar highlighted how Hyderabad is uniquely positioned to emerge as India’s premier hub-and-spoke logistics destination. Strengthening of rail connectivity to Inland Container Depots and developing air connectivity in emerging industrial centres such as Warangal, Karimnagar and Khammam will be critical to unlocking the State’s full logistics potential, he said.
