Under the new system, select documents can be registered online from anywhere round the clock. These documents include first sale of plot, first sale of flat, sale deeds relating to the Tamil Nadu Housing Board, and mortgage deeds and discharge deeds relating to bank loans, according to an official release.

Once the document submitted by an user is approved by the sub-registrar, the digitally signed document can be accessed and downloaded by the user through the account registered on the portal. It will also be shared through WhatsApp on the registered mobile number. The Registration Department is planning to make this system mandatory soon, the release said.

According to the release, members of the public, construction companies, document writers, banks, and advocates can create their own login credentials on the Registration Department website and submit the documents online. Aadhaar cards of the persons concerned — including executants, claimants, and witnesses — should be uploaded on the portal and Aadhaar verification should also be completed through fingerprint or iris authentication with the UIDAI system.

Internet connectivity, a UIDAI-approved L1 fingerprint scanner and iris scanner, and a webcam would be required for the process, the department said.
