The foundation stone for the proposed BISER (Bollineni Institute of Skill, Education and Research) Medical College and Corporate Hospital in Amaravati, backed by the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), was laid at Nidamarru in Mangalagiri mandal on Wednesday (May 13, 2026).
The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu; Union Minister of State for Rural Development Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar; Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Minister P. Narayana; Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav; KIMS Chairman Bollineni Bhaskar Rao; and others.
The hospital will come up on two acres of land. KIMS will establish a corporate hospital as part of the larger healthcare and education initiative, aimed at improving access to medical services for residents in and around Amaravati. Representatives of the institution said the BISER centre would be developed with an investment of ₹700 crore and would include a 500-bed multi-speciality hospital.
The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has allotted 23 acres of land on a lease basis for the establishment of the Bollineni Institute of Skill, Education and Research.
