A spectacled cobra (Naja naja) was rescued from a house at a remote hamlet in Karukonda Ramavaram Gram Panchayat in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Tuesday night.
The members of the Pranadhara Trust led by its founder president Santosh Babu rushed to the spot after being alerted by local villagers about the presence of a venomous snake in a house in the far-flung hamlet. The team members rescued the snake which had strayed into the house from the nearby forest fringe area. The entire rescue operation lasted a few hours, a press release said.
The snake was released into the forest area by the snake rescue team members after informing the local forest staff on Wednesday morning.
