Actor Kiara Advani has addressed reports that claimed she asked the makers of her upcoming film Toxicto reduce her intimate scenes with co-star Yash. The speculation surfaced as the Geetu Mohandas-directed film continued to draw attention online.
The reports claimed that Kiara had raised concerns after watching the final output of the film and had asked for some portions to be cut. They also said she had agreed to shoot a bold romantic sequence earlier after being assured that it would stay within her comfort zone, but later had second thoughts after seeing the final result.
Her reaction
Kiara directly rejected those claims on social media. Sharing a news report on her Instagram Stories, she wrote, “Absolute nonsense.”

The claim had appeared in a report by Gulte, which said Kiara had approached Yash and Mohandas and requested cuts to certain intimate portions in the film. Her post put out a clear denial of that version of events.
Toxic release delayed
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups was initially scheduled to release on June 4, 2026, but has now been postponed. Yash later confirmed that the film would no longer arrive in theatres on the earlier date.
In a statement, Yash said the film was complete and that the team was now aligning global distribution and partnerships. He said, “Toxicis complete, and we are currently aligning global distribution and partnerships. In light of this, we have decided to recalibrate our release timeline (sic).”
He also referred to the response received at CinemaCon and said it had strengthened the makers’ belief that the film should reach its “fullest potential worldwide”. In another part of the statement, he said, “There are films we make, and then there are films that remind us why we fell in love with cinema. Toxichas been one such journey (sic).”
Produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the film also features Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria.
