The government of Karnataka will launch a scheme to enable farmers buy milch cattle at subsidised prices.

K. Venkatesh, Minister for Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, said that farmers in northern Karnataka will be able to buy cows and buffaloes at 25% subsidy. “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has set aside funds for this project. It will be launched soon,” he said adding, “An estimated 20,000 farmers in Belagavi and Kalaburagi divisions will benefit.”
