A panel discussion, ‘Strait Talk: Mapping India’s Stakes in West Asia’, held in Mumbai on Tuesday (April 21, 2026) highlighted the trust deficit that looms large over a potential agreement in the Iran-U.S. talks to resolve the ongoing West Asia conflict.

The event, organised by the Asia Society India Centre in partnership with Burgundy Private and Axis Bank, brought together former diplomat Navdeep Suri, professor C. Raja Mohan, economist Neelkanth Mishra, and journalist Rajdeep Sardesai. The conversation, held at The Clubhouse, pointed to Iranian internal divisions, Chinese influence, and India’s changing position in the region.
