The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) at Vadakara has thrown open its doors for school students to explore the world of science in the ongoing vacation season.
A science lab, named after noted scientist E.C.G. Sudarshan, has been set up in five halls at the institute. A ‘Physics Zone’, ‘Maths Zone’, ‘Chemistry and Biology Zone’, ‘Outdoor Science Park’, and ‘Virtual Reality Experience Zone’ are part of it. The students can experiment with the lessons they study in classrooms, along with the mathematical and scientific ideas they come across in their daily lives in these places.
On the first day of the exhibition on Saturday (April 18, 2026), 70 students from seven sub-districts in the Vadakara educational district, who have excelled in academics, visited the lab. They were accompanied by their parents, teachers, and seven assistant educational officers. They later divided themselves into five groups and engaged in various activities. The participants were also given mementos and certificates.
