Dhanbad: Accused sentenced to 10 years in kidnapping case of minor


Dhanbad: The court on Monday gave its verdict on the point of punishment in a case of kidnapping and raping a minor. The court of Special POCSO Judge Prabhakar Singh has sentenced Rajesh Kumar Bauri, resident of Bengali Kothi 3rd, to five years imprisonment and Rs 5,000 under Section 366 of the Indian Penal Code, and 10 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 under Section 4 of the POCSO Act. Both the punishments will run together. The FIR was registered on 19 May 2023 in the Third Police Station on the complaint of the victim.

Convicted in kidnapping of minor with intention of marriage

Dhanbad: On Monday, the court of POCSO Special Judge Prabhakar Singh gave its verdict in the case of kidnapping and rape of a 17-year-old minor with the intention of marriage. The court has convicted the accused Prakash Kumar Rawani, resident of Isri Bazar Nimiaghat in Giridih district. He was sent to jail. The court has fixed February 6 as the next date of hearing on the point of punishment. The victim's father had lodged an FIR against the accused at Dhansar police station on 11 September 2019.

Complaint filed for luring a minor away

The case of kidnapping of a minor going to school in Podadiha Panchayat of Kowali police station has come to light. In this matter the family members have lodged a complaint at Kowali police station. The incident is of 31 January. Family members told that the minor is an intermediate student. On January 31, she left the house saying that she was going to college. After this she did not return home. The family members have filed a complaint against Rajendra Pradhan of the village, accusing him of luring the minor away and taking her away.
