Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has appointed a three-member committee comprising board members Panabaka Lakshmi and S. Naresh Kumar (from Karnataka), along with Jaggampeta MLA Jyothula Nehru, to address the pending issues regarding the allotment of housing plots to TTD employees.

Though the massive housing scheme was launched few years ago, the allotment of the house site ‘pattas’ (deeds) to thousands of its eligible employees and pensioners has been postponed due to the delay in clearing the land. The land allotments are located at Padiredu Aranyam in Vadamalapeta mandal and Pagali in Yerpedu mandal in Tirupati district.

During a previous board meeting, it was decided that the TTD would bear 75% of the plot cost, while the beneficiary employee would pay the remaining amount. Representatives of the TTD employees brought their concerns and the difficulties theyw ere facing in the allotment of housing sites to the attention of the district officials.

Speaking to The Hindu, Ms. Panabaka Lakshmi said, “Of the nearly 15-acre site, there is a water body covering 5 acres of the identified location. The Revenue department officials should give clearance for the housing sites. Once it is done, the allotment will begin very soon. TTD Chairman has directed to expedite the distribution of house site pattas and registration process for the employees.”

District Collector S. Venkateswar, along with the committee members, discussed the land allocation to the TTD employees during a review meeting here on Friday evening. Comprehensive discussions were held with the officials of the TTD and Revenue department. He assured the employees that their grievances would be examined positively and resolved as quickly as possible.

He directed the concerned officials to expedite the process of allocating housing sites and to take necessary administrative measures to ensure that employees face no difficulties. He also urged them to work in coordination to resolve pending issues and to take prompt decisions.
